I`ve spent many hours trawling the internet for unusual photo locations in the European Alps and some of the interesting images in the Alps galleries of this web-site are the fruits of that trawl. This research often gave me a head-start in deciding in what direction to aim my car on a Saturday morning. In this regard, landscape photographers have it easier these days than say Ansel Adams did.
But it is much more exciting to stumble on curious photo subjects without prior knowledge. This happened with the earth pyramids below. I forget quite why I got out of the car at this point on the road to S-charl, but I`m glad I did. There they were, tucked nearly out of sight on the dirt cliff directly beneath the road. Hidden to all but the lucky (if you like that sort of thing).
