We had just arrived at the Overflow Section of the Snaring River Campground north-east of Jasper. There are no tent pads there so I was deliberating on which stony part to put up the tent. Then in a most uneuropean way (he was after all from Ferndale, Washington) the male half of the couple parked to our right came over and began to help me study the lie of the land, so to speak.
This would be rather unlikely to happen on a campground in Switzerland.. But Bill presumably didn`t get to the top of his profession as a commercial airline pilot by being shy and retiring.. Adriana and I were duly brought out of our reserved selves by our friendly neighbours that pleasant evening, of which we will retain fond memories.
