I was hoping that the forest roads leading south from Highway 16 near Cedarvale would give a better view of the Seven Sisters than that obtainable from the main road. I walked a short way up one of them to see if it would accommodate a two-wheel drive car. A full 100 yards up it and 10 metres off into the bush I saw this weird sight. The dead animal was sprawled out in front of the car as if it had been hit by it and wrecked the car in the process. But here? How did the car generate enough speed in the woods to kill a moose or an elk? Impossible. The owner must have dumped the car here and the animal died in front of it earlier or later (it still stank, so probably later). Whatever the circumstances, it made the oddest of juxtapositions.
