If a picture speaks for itself, why bother with a caption, or even a thousand of them? This likely applies here on this page.
I was unprepared for the flood of glorious colour and sound that heralded the start of another powwow in the town of Cody, east of Yellowstone, in July 2000. It was my first powwow. There I was, poised with camera raised to the eye, right from the start of the first entrée. But I was compelled to put it down and just stare in awe and soak it all up for the first few minutes. It`s not that I was pressed for time or anything. There was plenty of that later. Hours and hours later if I`d wanted. These are long affairs, but for the audience, not at all drawn out. The same can`t be said for some of the younger contestants who were definitely feeling the pace towards the end.
