Go into any travel agent with an open mind about where to spend your next holiday, and you can be sure that you will not be directed to the Faroe Islands. This is perhaps not surprising as Faroesians have to tolerate precipitation of some form on about 280 days of the year. But if you are not perturbed by shades of grey and green being the predominant hue, then there is an undeniable beauty to be found in the landscape here:

"towering cliffs, layer-cake mountains, crashing surf, and millions of squawking sea birds dive-bombing the colourful Faroese fishing boats are likely to produce an aesthtic jolt.
